2011 is almost here!
As 2010 draws to a close, I find myself looking back at the past year. Where did it go?!

Question of the day
I'm going to a New Year's Eve cocktail party and I'm a little short on funds. I have my staple little black dress but I'm sure half the women going will be wearing theirs too. How can I stand out without having to spend a lot of money?

It's Christmas!
The tree is beaming, the fire is lit, the puppies are playing. It's a great way to start Christmas day! I must admit, this holiday has been a little different.

Question of the day
I'm going to a Christmas dinner and the hostess asked me to bring a side dish. The problem is that there are vegetarian and vegan guests. What should I bring that will be alright for everyone's diet?
I would suggest Vegan Green Bean Casserole. It's a great alternative to a holiday favorite and will be suitable for all the guest's dietary preferences. Here is a recipe for you, it's a little more work that the traditional version, but I'm sure you will be pleased with the result.

Shoppers block? Problem solved!
If any of you are like me, you have people on your list who are not the easiest to shop for. Gift cards are always a great idea but I always feel bad just handing someone a card. No matter what age, everyone loves to open gifts.
So this year, while standing in line at Safeway, I finally figured it out. I'm not sure about other stores, but Safeway has a huge selection of gift cards with every conceivable dollar amount. I bought gift boxes in all different sizes and put the gift cards inside.
I finished my shopping in one stop, stayed on budget and have wrapped gifts under the tree. TGFS (thank goodness for Safeway)!
